An important part of this mountain on the border of Nepal and India is located in the Taplejung district of Nepal.

Even till 1852, Kanchenjunga was considered the tallest mountain in the world, but according to various searches and researches and the measurement of Great Trigonometrical Survey in 1849, Everest, which was called the 15th peak at that time, started to be considered as the tallest mountain.

And finally at number one we have the world’s tallest mountain Sagarmatha also known as Everest whose height was 8,848 meters but in 2020 a joint team of China and Nepal measured its new height at 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet). There are two main routes to climb Mount Everest. One is the southeast route which is through Nepal and the other is the northern route which goes through China. There are many people who climb the route of Nepal.

The first attempt was made by a British climber, that too through the northern route, because at that time Nepal did not allow foreigners to climb the mountain. No matter how hard the British tried from the northern side, they could not.

The 1924 climbing expedition produced a mystery that remains a mystery to this day. George Mallory and Andrew Irvine made a final attempt in June but never returned, and whether or not they succeeded in the climb is still a mystery.

Tenzing Norge and Edmund Hillary successfully climbed Mount Everest in 1953. Even before this, in 1952, Tenzing Norgay reached 8,569 meters under the Swiss expedition. Likewise, a Chinese group of climbers from the north, including Wang Fuzhou, Gonpo and Qu Yinhua, made a successful ascent on May 25, 1960.
